Review of a book on wilderness survival
This book is ideal for those who enjoy adventure stories and want to learn how they can survive in the wild. This story is about a group young people who are separated from their teachers, classmates and mentors by a flash flooding in the Chiricahua National Monument. Addy, who is the sole survivor of the disaster, was on a wilderness survival class and has already mastered map-making as well as basic wilderness knowledge. But when a flash flood strands her group, she must guide her peers to safety through the wilderness and save them from the deadly blaze.
This book is perfect for both teens and adults. It is a thrilling and award-winning tale about two young men caught in perilous circumstances. Sam is the albatross while Sam is the dog. To survive in Alaskan wilderness, they must work together. The story is action-packed with fast pace and excitement, so children will have no trouble imagining their own dangerous wild scenarios.
Hugh Glass' story
The grizzly bear attack on the American frontiersman, Hugh Glass, made him one of the most celebrated men of all time. Glass, a trader as well as explorer, was faced with many perils in his lifetime, but was able persevere through sheer willpower. These are just a few highlights from Glass's remarkable story of survival in the wilderness. Keep reading to find out more about this amazing man.

Glass survived despite a broken leg. He splinted it and cut off the bear hide that he was wearing as camouflage. Even though he couldn't move more than a hobble, Glass managed to find edibles. He survived because fruits and berries were plentiful during this season. But as a result of this incredible story, the grizzly bear cubs have become famous.
Mike Vilhauer's story
Mike Vilhauer was lost for seven days while fishing in California. He was lost and had stopped heading back. So he decided to hide under a pine tree to get some shade from the sun. He was hungry and dehydrated the next morning so he drank out of puddles. He walked around circles the next day trying to find his way to civilization.
Mike had a revelation after five days spent hiking in the mountains. He wrote to his family, explaining his situation and apologizing for his mistakes. He saw a helicopter above him on Aug. 10. He raised his arms high in the air to draw the attention of the pilot who saw him and alerted search-and-rescue crews to his location. His story was broadcast on national television, with rescuers arriving from at least eight to nine counties, including Nevada.
Adrian Knopps' story
In an unforgettable wilderness survival story, electrician Adrian Knopps survived seven days alone in Alaskan wilderness after a harrowing bear hunt with his friend. Knopps was desperate for help as the two men had separated. Knopps' partner had run off into the rife, leaving him alone and surrounded by bears and wolf packs. He was suffering from hypothermia as well as hallucinations and was being battered in the storm with 70-mph winds. Coast Guard officials informed him that they have never seen anyone survive so extreme wilderness conditions.

Knopps was completely soaked by the storm. Although he was unable to walk due to hypothermia, he never lost faith. The Coast Guard reached out to Knopps' wife and flew her to the rescue. Knopps was left in severe hypothermia with hallucinations and swelling of his feet and joints. But, he never lost hope. It was an accident that occurred for no apparent reason, which Knopps still views as a freak event.
